Lynne Homer and Ron Tatton of Somerleyton Post Office in Suffolk were praised by judges for their community spirit and ideas. The judges said: “This branch is a great example of innovation - it has expanded into a range of local services and truly made itself a hub for the area.”

As well as the regular services, Somerleyton Post Office boasts an internet cafe with training classes, a tea room and a transport service to the train station and hospital.

Lynne thanked all of her customers for their support and said that she strives to make them all feel welcome in the store.
“We make sure that all of our customers feel as if this is their store and that they enjoy coming in,” she said. “We’re more than a convenience store and post office, we’re a hub of the community.”

She added that they won’t be sitting back on this success and they’re planning on adding to the already extensive list of services. “We never rest on our laurels and you have to move forward in order to be successful,” she said. “We have a few exciting ideas that we’re working on to introduce to the store.”
