The Co-operative Food has today launched its ‘Local Shop of Horrors’ campaign to inspire customers this Halloween.

The creative takeover, which ranges from recipe cards to social media tips, aims to attract customers in the run up to Halloween.

Customers can find tear-off recipe cards in-store with ideas created to keep children entertained, five of which will be highlighted by in-store sampling up until October 31.

The Co-op has also launched a selection of confectionery in its Loved by us range as well as a selection of Halloween sweet treats including the chocolate and orange flavoured Pumpkin Cake and Blood ‘n’ Bones ice cream, which consists of creamy vanilla ice cream with a blood-red raspberry swirl, “bone-crunchingly delicious” white chocolate curls and “brain-numbing” marshmallow pieces.

Amanda Jennings, marketing director at The Co-operative Food, said: “As a convenience retailer, we are perfectly placed for Halloween and for those who need to stock up on party food or trick or treat sweets fast.

“It’s the third biggest event in the year for us, behind Christmas and Easter, so we’ll be focusing on great in store deals, and making sure our range offers lots of inspiration for our shoppers.”
