Budgens retailers now have access to a new Local Marketing Kit to help them launch successful community events including local product sampling campaigns and British tea parties.

Available from the end of July the kits, which cost £25, contain a raft of key products to help retailers run year round events “come rain or shine.”

Launched at the 2013 Budgens and Londis Trade Show, the kits include a large waterproof Budgens branded tablecloth, two Budgens branded aprons, a branded Competition box and a ‘How to Do Local Marketing Guide with tips ideas and examples.

“There are many ways to generate a buzz and to really make a name for your store as the hub of the community, the more creative the better, and the kit can help to do just the thing,” a Budgens spokeswoman told Convenience Store.

Other highlights of the show, which hosted more than 150 suppliers, included the launch of new SuperValu round pound bays of top selling lines, supported by a full merchandising kit.

Retailers attending the show also had the chance to taste a new range of SuperValu ice creams launching in Budgens this month, and into Londis stores in September. With an rrp of £2.50, the premium tubs of flavours including Cookies and Cream and Rocky Road have been designed to compete with branded products, even when on half price or BOGOF deals.
