Scottish Spar chain Botterills was named the customers' favourite convenience retailer at the recent Convenience Tracking Programme (CTP) Awards, staged in London by consultants HIM.
The CTP awards are based on feedback from 30,000 c-store shoppers, plus 3,500 store staff and suppliers. Botterills scored highest across a range of criteria shoppers use to assess the quality of their local store, and the chain also picked up the award for best customer service.
The Sainsbury's-owned Bells Stores was named best community retailer, while Martin McColl was named best CTN chain and Mills Group best news retailer. Booker Premier, David Sands, Budgens, Booths and G&E Murgatroyd (James Hall) also picked up awards.
Imperial Tobacco was voted by retailers as the best supplier for range and planogram advice, Robert Wiseman Dairies as best for compliance, with Camelot named best supplier overall.
