South West Spar distributor Appleby Westward has announced the appointment of Mike Boardman as managing director.
Currently trading director at Spar wholesaler AF Blakemore, Boardman will replace Mark McCammond, who is due to rejoin Henderson Group in Northern Ireland, in November.
Appleby chairman Leo Crawford said: “I am delighted to appoint Mike to his new role. His wealth of experience within the Spar family at Blakemore’s, and previously at Somerfield, ensures that Appleby Westward has recruited a top class retail professional.
“We are very much looking forward to Mike joining the team, to help us continue to drive all aspects of our business forward, building upon our excellent performance over recent years.”
With McCammond due to leave Appleby Westward in September, Crawford added: “I wish Mark McCammond every success in his future career within the SPAR network and I would like to personally thank him for the role he played in driving strong top line and bottom line growth, ensuring that the business is well positioned for further growth under Mike’s leadership.”
