Consumption of fruit, salads and vegetables is predicted to rise over the next year, according to a survey of UK fresh produce businesses. However, more prepared and semi-prepared options need to be made available if sales are to reach their potential, the research by financial advisors Grant Thornton and the Re: Fresh partnership found.
Sales have continued to fall at newspaper and magazine wholesaler Menzies Distribution. In a trading update for the four months to 31 October, released this morning, Menzies said its underlying revenues had fallen 4%.
