Martin McColl is selling 54 CTNs and convenience stores across the UK as part of its strategy to make the business more profitable.
The chain has more than 1,250 branches and identified the shops which did not fit into the company's future corporate strategy following a consolidation last year. Some have post offices or off-licence sections, and all are being sold as going concerns.
Christie & Co is arranging the sale. Director Allen Shepherd said: "Although these sites no longer suit Martin McColl's future corporate strategy, their availability offers an excellent opportunity for experienced, independent operators capable of adopting a more imaginative and hands-on approach to running businesses."
