Maynards Bassetts has introduced bigger £1 pricemarked packs (PMPs) across its range to give consumers better value for money. The 165g promotional packs are now available across its core bag range, including Wine Gums and Jelly Babies, the number one and two bags in the market, according to Mondelez International, and newly launched Bertie’s Jelly Mix.

The new packs aim to help retailers drive sales on candy bags, which is the most impulsive category within snacking with 60% of purchases being unplanned, says the company. It claims that PMPs are helping to make consumers’ hunt for value easier and can influence shoppers to buy products. While for independent retailers, it says that improved perceived value, speed of sales, convenience and customer trust make stocking PMPs a great option.

Katie Bashford, senior brand manager for Joyful Candy at Mondelez International, said: “PMPs help to give shoppers the reassurance of clear pricing in store. With Maynards Bassetts leading the candy bag category in convenience with a 26 per cent share, our products are a consumer favourite. The new 165g bags offer great value for consumers on larger PMP bags on its best-sellers and help drive their sales in store.”
