Booker has dropped the price of 23 key tobacco lines as it seeks to support retailers in the run-up to the tobacco display ban on 6 April 2015.

Price drops have been made on big brands including Marlboro, Benson & Hedges and Silk Cut, with Booker claiming that the move will improve its customers’ margins by £3m.

Booker customers will also be able to earn up to 4% discount through its Spend & Save scheme.

Retail sales director Steve Fox said: “Dropping the price of these 23 products will deliver an extra £3m profit for our customers.

“Tobacco remains a tough category for our customers and we want to help them during the countdown to the display ban. We are delighted to be able to offer such low prices and we are confident that independent retailers will recognise Q5 as fantastic low prices to help them make more profits.”

Some of the new prices include Benson & Hedges Gold 10x20s for £68.93 which delivers a profit on return of 7.9%.
